The graphics were extremely bad, but the gameplay was pretty good,I see you managed to fix the hittest when you hit the walls,it needs sound though,and you said laps would be hard to do,it's not hard at all,here's how you do it:
You have a variable called laps or soemthing and set it to 0,then have a hittest at the finish line that whenever you hit the line the the laps variable increases by 1,then when it reaches a certain number like 3 it goes to the next frame,anyway try improving the game,good luck

That was pretty good for a stopmotion,most other people can't really do it that well and yours looked pretty realistic so good jbo on that,keep it up man,looking forward to more of your work
